CenturyLink Facilities

Arcadia: Replaced (2) outdated 15-ton split system air conditioning units with new.  Reinstalled to new CenturyLink Company Standards.

Lake Brantley: Replaced all existing air conditioning equipment with new.  Provided design to meet new CenturyLink Company Standards.

Maitland: Replaced existing air conditioning equipment with new.  Provided design for 100% redundant systems and placed them on the exterior of the building to allow for more telecom equipment indoors.

Naples: Similar to Maitland project, replaced older undersized equipment with new. Placed on exterior of building above 100-year flood elevation.

Underground Vaults: Replaced equipment for underground vaults throughout state of Florida. Installed new gas monitoring equipment for confined spaces.

Winter Garden: Design replacement of existing air-cooled split chiller with new.  System runs in 100% redundancy with existing air-cooled packaged unit located on site.  Reworked piping as needed to install chiller and ensure complete chiller system with either chiller operating to provide building with cooling.

Winter Park: Placed (2) 300-ton air cooled chillers on roof of building.  Units are selected with quiet operation appurtenances to ensure adjacent neighbors are not bothered by fans and compressors.  Units placed inside screen wall with chilled water pumps on upper mechanical room floor.  Chillers are 100% redundant of one another and are rotated weekly to equalize run times.

CHP Metro Building:

Design for new metro CHP facility at the corner of Thomasville Road and I-10 in Tallahassee, Florida.  Building is comprised of multiple spaces including wound care, labs, office space, urgent care, and shell space.  Building boasts use of ice-storage for cooling and a 100% building power failure backup generator.  Tomahawk Engineering is partnered with and committed to CHP to assess operation of chiller plant and ensure plant maximizes potential of energy savings and kW demand charge limits.

Envision Credit Union:

Design for new building in downtown Tallahassee to operate as Envision Credit Union’s newest location.  Facility is provided with a natural gas generator for backup power and includes use of hybrid heat pump and natural gas heating to avoid costly electrical demand charges.

FSU McCullum Hall:

Addition of a new entry Lobby and student lounge area for the existing McCullum Hall Dormitory located no FSU’s west side of campus.

Southern Scholarship:

New dormitory for the Southern Scholarship foundation on Jefferson Street on FSU’s campus.

TCC CEP:

Included the design for installation of a replacement heating hot water boiler plant and addition of a chiller to replace aging equipment.  Cooling tower was also included to support changes made to the chilled water condensing systems.

TMH CEP:

Provided design for a replacement plant for the Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare (TMH) Campus.  Included design of a new primary chilled water loop, secondary chilled water loop, and addition of 4,500-tons of cooling tower located above the existing chiller and boiler plants.  System made corrections to existing chilled water campus loops, in particular the ER air conditioning systems.  Added (2) 1 Megawatt generators and (1) 1.5-Megawatt generator for the Mustian Surgery Tower Addition. Total chilled water capacity added to the campus was 4,500-tons.  Because of changes to the systems, TMH was able to turn off (5) chilled water pumps and operate on new pumps with proper loop water pressure and flow control.

Lighting Rendering:

Tomahawk Engineering is well adept at lighting evaluations and can assist in review of correct lighting levels required for any situation.
